How Copynote, a product of Writence, handles your information — written plainly, with no surprises buried in the fine print.
Last updated: This is a template effective date. The binding policy lives in the product app.
1. Who we are
Copynote.app is operated by Writence (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data we collect when you use the Copynote marketing site and the product at app.diglot.ai, why we collect it, and the choices you have. For the binding, in-app version of this policy, see the product app.
2. Information we collect
- Account information — your email and any profile details you provide when you sign up or apply for the beta.
- Documents and content — the drafts, messages, and vocabulary entries you write or save in the workspace.
- Usage data — basic, privacy-respecting analytics about how the site and app are used, to improve the product.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to provide and improve the service: to run the editor, process AI-assisted features you request, keep your saved vocabulary, and support your account. We do not sell your personal information.
4. AI processing and your content
Some features send the relevant portion of your text to AI providers to perform a task you initiated — for example, rewriting a draft or reviewing grammar. We do not use your documents to train AI models, and we contract with providers on terms intended to prevent your content from being used for their model training. AI assistance is optional; features that send text out are triggered by you, not run silently.
5. How your content is stored
Your documents and vocabulary are stored to provide the service to you. Within the limits described here and in the in-app policy, your content is yours — we access it to operate features, support you, and keep the service running, not to repurpose it. Work drafts often contain client names and information that isn’t public; we treat all of it as confidential.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use a minimal set of cookies needed to run the site and a privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand aggregate usage. We do not run intrusive cross-site advertising trackers on this site.
7. Sharing and service providers
We share data only with the service providers needed to run Copynote — for example, hosting, AI processing, and payment processing — each bound by contract to handle it appropriately. We do not sell personal information to third parties.
8. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and then for any period required by law. Deleting a document deletes its history with it. You can request deletion as described below.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise these rights from within the app or by contacting us. We honor data-subject requests in line with applicable law.
10. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where it is, we use appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable data-protection law.
11. Security
We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit and at rest where appropriate, and access controls — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.
12. Children
Copynote is intended for adult professional writers and is not directed at children. We apply an age gate consistent with applicable law.
13. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the product evolves; material changes will be communicated in the app. Questions? Reach us at hello@copynote.app or via the contact page.
